Many old postcards were printed in large quantities. A younger card showing a scarce town, vanished business, unusual vehicle, disaster, or culturally important event may be more desirable than a common Golden Age greeting.
Subject scarcity
Exact subject and local scarcity often drive demand. Search the town, building, business, street, route, or event rather than only the broad category.
Publisher and format
Important publishers, artist-signed series, real photo cards, large-letter variations, novelty formats, and documented production numbers can create specialist demand.
Condition
Creases, rounded corners, stains, trimming, album residue, writing, cancellations, and restoration affect comparability.

Completed sales
Use sold results. Compare the exact view and condition, and remember one competitive auction result is not a permanent market value.
